Parents, Do Not Miss This Program!

Citizens for Sound Academic Standards

Welcomes the community to an open and public REVIEW of the Pros and Cons of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) AND Available Alternate Programs.

Nevada signed on to CCSS before the program was completed, without any kind of public review. Some states never adopted CCSS and some states which did have since rescinded CCSS.

Who? Both sides of CCSS will be presented between James Milgram, Professor Emeritus, Department of Mathematics, Stanford University and Sandra Stotsky, Professor Emerita, University of Arkansas, with the Nevada Department of Education representatives Steve Canavero and Judy Osgood. Moderator: Ron Smith, Lt. Governor-elect Kiwanis Div. 45.

#1 When? Tuesday JANUARY 13, 6 – 8 PM, Legislative Building, 401 South Carson St., Room 1214, Carson City. Doors will open at 5:30PM. Please use rear entrance. This event is hosted by Assemblyman PK O’Neill.

#2 When? Wednesday, JANUARY 14, 12-1:30 PM, Kings Buffet, 3650 Kietzke Lane, Reno. Hostess: Carole Fineberg - Conservative Talk Lunch is $12.

#3 When? Wednesday, JANUARY 14, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Fallon Convention Center, 100 Campus Way, Fallon. Hosted by Chuchill County School District. Moderator: Bus Schamann, Churchill County Commissioner

Q and A follows panel discussions. Bring your concerns. Some issues are loss of local control, parents and teacher roles, data collection, testing, costs, etc.
